for utilization by competitive commerce to stimulate income
generating properties to upgrade and promote our area.
Description of the Project: The solicitation of an initial estimated $50,000.00 in private funds to renovate the main gate entrance to the current fairgrounds incorporating the appearance of the originally established gate from the early 1900’s. (See photo)
Entrance design will include the reconstruction of the original arches, white picket fencing and wrought iron entrance gates. A modern utility gate entrance will be installed just east of the main entrance for emergency vehicles & large equipment. Column adorning flags supporting 4-H and FFA will welcome visitors, as well as, a newly designed Putnam County Fair Flag. (Contact Fair Office for details on contest to design this new flag).
Enhancement of existing flag station – The
A New Bell Plaza will be created to relocate the bell to a more prominent location by the Jr. Fair Exhibitor’s building. A seating area and historical markers denoting the history of the last 150+ years of local fairs, a schedule of events station and map of the property will be available for visitors to enjoy their visit.
New Event/Advertising Marquee – We are looking for four-six sponsors that would like to purchase billboard advertisement beneath the marquee sign. The Marquee sign will be positioned near the fair office and will be an informative piece on monthly events at the Putnam County Fairgrounds.
Landscaping and cosmetic grounds improvements – will be incorporated at the areas listed above.
