The original front gate of the Putnam County Fairgrounds in Ottawa, circa 1846. Going to the fair was a big deal in the 1800s for people and horses. A sample of early fair advertising (1893), this character was seen at the Putnam County Fair just last year. A new gate was dedicated in June, 2009
